Course Enrichment Grants

In an effort to encourage long-term reciprocal partnerships between UVA faculty, students, and community partners, the RPE program is offering $2,000 grants to support courses that include a strong element of community engagement. Faculty members are encouraged to apply for funding to support courses that deploy place-based and community-based learning.

These grants are available on a rolling as-needed basis.

Applications should include:

  1. course title and semester offered
  2. evidence of an established relationship with community partner(s). This could be in the form of a letter of support from the partner(s), an MOU for the course, or a description of previous work with the partner(s)
  3. description of the class, including how community-engaged teaching is incorporated, and the expected impact of that partnership on the student experience.
  4. a preliminary budget that outlines financial support for the partners and for any necessary course activities

Email applications to Catherine Walden, cew9f@virginia.edu.
